Restoran Terapung Pulau Aman @ Pulau Aman, Simpang Ampat, Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang (Halal)

Have u ever tried to take lunch by riding boat?
There’s my 1st experienced that never tried before, we had to ride a boat to Pulau Aman, an island which is very small and minority populations.
For only RM6, the return ride is consider cheap.

A bit weird why it was called “Kompleks Jeti Batu Musang”
But anyway, this is the only jetty that boat will pick u up to Pulau Aman.
The journey had been taken approx. 15minutes.

With the surpassing beauty scenery, our journey become more enjoyable.
U can see the 2nd Penang Bridge (which is under construction) at other end of the sea.

After 15mins travel from the jetty, there’s the only floated restaurant beside the island and there’s our destination that looking for.

Something special for me, which I ever seen before, the restaurant is combining with the shrimp farms.

Therefore, the shrimps and the other seafood are fresh.
U can order those seafood at the farm and then bring it to the restaurant, the chef will cook for u. To taste the best, they’ll steam the seafood only.

Big Prawn, RM53 per kilo (price may be changed)
These prawn are clean after the worker cut off the long whisker.
These prawns are about same size as your thumb and longer than your middle finger.

Besides that, u can order Lai Urinary Shrimp (蝦蛄 a.k.a 攋尿蝦).
The size is extremely big, almost same like medium size Palinuridae (龙虾), about 20cm long.

Tadaaa…here u go, the Mee Udang from Pulau Aman, RM6 and RM10 is Special Mee Udang
The “Special” is added more prawn only.
Is very nice and delicious… Thicker aroma of prawn soup and a bit sour with some drops of lemon. Fresh and chewy prawn that I never tasted before.

Beverage here is quenching our thirst. Thai Coconut. RM4.00

Sweet drink, thick layer of coconut flesh.

There’s other menu that u can choose.

If u choose “Special”, the only different is they’ll add more prawns.

Anyway reminder for the last trip back to Batu Kawan is until 6pm only.
Therefore if u late and not able to take the last trip, u have to wait until tomorrow morning then only can go back.

Besides that, u also can visit other places in this island.

After having such an delicious meal, we decided to walk around the island.
Only walking few meters from the restaurant, found 1 type of dead puffer fish. So cute… but…

There’re other fruits that hardly can be found in town too, Ciku.

This island scenery are very beautiful.

Before we left, during on board, we spotted there’s jellyfish in the sea.

Finally, we left and continue another journey.

Overall the ingredient are fresh and chewy.
The food are tasty and delicious.
The pricing is reasonable, no tax (Service Tax + Government Tax)
The food variety is moderate low. Only few options can be chosen.
The environment is slightly warm but still accepted.
The service is good.

Subway @ Tai Ichi Hotel (第一酒店), Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur (Halal)

After wake up in KL, should be no problem to look for breakfast at here.
Thus, the nearest and most desire to eat, which suggested by yesterday Birthday Girl is Subway.

Not sure why the name called Sub-Way.
Is it small road or branch after main road? Local people said “Lorong”, “Lintang”, etc…
Anyway It’s American restaurant franchise that primarily sells submarine sandwiches (subs) and salads. (Quote from Wiki).
Ooo… sandwiches and salads, consider healthier food than the others.
We found the nearest Subway café which inside Bukit Bintang area is inside Tai Ichi Hotel (第一酒店). Weird… never heard any franchise café inside the hotel. Or we might outdated lo.

There’re few steps to build your own sandwiches or salads.
Step1: Choose your menu, either Footlong, 6-inch, salad, or wrap.
Footlong is extremely long bread for those big appetite people, or those who want to share for 2 persons.
6-inch bread… no need to tell u what’s the size and I think u should know how small it is (for western people, it’s consider small size and suitable for kids)
If u choose Salad, they’ll use a plate and fill in all the stuffing that u want.
Wrap is like Roti Kebab in Malaysia, but it should be different taste because it has ur customized stuffing inside.

Step2:
Choose ur bread, can try many different bread that u want. Hearty Italian, Wheat, Honey Oat, Italian, Parmesan Oregano, Wrap… Oops, I don’t know all that. U can Google it out. ;-)

Step3:
After chosen ur bread, is time to choose ur cheese and meat.

There’re 3 types of meats that u can choose, with chicken, beef, or turkey.
About 7 to 8 kinds of taste and combination stuffing that u can choose.

The more stuffing u choose, the more u need to pay. ^_^
As u like, still can choose the stuffing until overflow.
After putting all the meat and cheese into the bread/wrap, it’ll be heated for few minutes before move to the next step.

Step4:
After the stuffing and bread/wrap been heated up, is time to choose ur veggies.
The choices are Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Red Onions, Pickles, Olives, And Jalapenos.

Step5:
Finish putting ur veggies? Is turn to choose ur sauce.
Yellow Mustard, Sweet Onion, Mayonnaise, Olive Oil Blend, Vinegar, Chilli, Ketchup, BBQ, Ranch… Wau… never heard before, but it’ll for sure made ur sandwiches and salads more tastier.

Step6:
Settle customized ur food? To complete a set of meal, u can choose drink and snacks.

After all the steps, is time to enjoy the meal.
Let’s compare a Hand-phone bag vs a Foodlong bread… Ooo… It can make u madly full if only 1 person to finish it.

It’s so tempting on the outlook, tasty and delicious for the inside… stuffing and bread.

The price is RM20.67… Oops… I’m too excited to focus on the menu, without look at the pricing.

Overall the ingredient is fresh and tasty.
Most of the stuffing is follow western style, more heavy taste.
The pricing is consider reasonable, because the size is so big.
Only 3 types of menu, and the stuffing is slightly limited of variety.
The environment is exactly like fast food café.
The service… am not sure why, but the staff who was serving us not picking up a smile while taking order… very sour face waitress. :-(

Actually TGI Friday cafe is Western Style cafe, thus the portion will be very big compare the Asian food.

Mixture of Green Apple and Lemon-Lime Soda with cherry on top.
Is like 7-11 Slush, but it's more tasty and more sweetness.

Gold Mango Margarita, RM25.50
Slightly bitter, because it's alcohol beverage. Don't worry, u won’t get drunk with this medium size cup, but u'll enjoy it after u known the steps on drink it.
Heavy mango taste and creamy.
Now they offer RM5 off with condition purchase after purchase, If u order Tortilla Crusted Fish Tacos.

Tortilla Crusted Fish Tacos, RM23.90
Is resembles salad mix with Fish Fillet, this Fish Tacos is fresh and tasty.
the portion is slightly big for 1 person, thus we had to share.

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Quesadillas, RM20.90
Flour tortilla is packed with sautéed chicken, tomato-basil mix, beef bits and oozing with Monterey Jack cheese. Coat it with Parmesan and pan-fry it to a crispy, golden brown, then drizzle it with balsamic glaze.
The taste is special with so many preparation and it's worth because the taste and the portion. similar like Roti Canai pack with roasted chicken.

After enjoy the food, in the earlier time we had asked...any special for Birthday Girl? the crew replied and said "Yes, will give a cake and celebrate with".
While waiting, we make a joke and wonder is it will be charged for cake and the presentation... but don't worry... Is Zero charge and they are happily to make fun with u.

If u want, u can ask a balloon too.
Anyway really thanks to the TGI crew that bring fun to us. He's very helpful and good to us, having fun with him. But sorry, I didn't ask his name, or else I'll promote his name to his manager.  ^_^
in the bill stated there's Nooreezam (1161), not sure is he the waiter serve us.

Okay...End of the story and the bill is come... Wau...lucky number 88.  ;-)

Overall the ingredients are fresh and tasty. all food are well prepared. Fresh feeling and great taste for me.
The price is slightly high with the food, but it's consider reasonable because the portion of the food is big.
Besides that, there's tax too (10% Service Tax + 6% Government Tax).
The food variety are multiple choices. the beverage will include alcohol drinks too.
The environment is classy field. great place for chill out.
The service are great. they didn't put their face on higher side, and they'll serve with u like a close friend. Have a good impression too.

G. P. Soon Rojak (孫翊徒 囉也) @ Gurney Drive, Penang (Halal)

There're different types of shrimp paste and stuffing for Rojak.

Somf of the Rojak in Ipoh will add some taugeh and Kangkung.

For Penang Rojak, Ambarella (or originally called Spondias dulcis) will be added in.

In Penang, Rojak @ this stall is very famous.

As u can see, I have to on queue and lots of customers still waiting to order their “black gold”

Ditanggung Halal, Price list: RM3, 4, 5, 6, 7

And also u can customize make order, for e.g. u wan adding more or exclude any fruits/vegetables.

Just beside Gurney Drive MPPP public toilet

Is Ok, no smell although u are standing so near. ;-)

Some stall info:

If u want DIY ur own Rojak, u can purchase their shrimp paste in bottle.

Chen Hung (Famous Chef in Taiwan) had visited before, and recommend u to come

Rojak Stuffing:

Fried and Crispy You Char Kuay (油条, Chinese Donut)

Young Mango, Cucumber, Sengkuang, Pineapple, Jambu Air, and Umpala (Kedondong)

Cuttlefish

If u request little spicy, they’ll add on this chili

But if u want heavier spicy taste, they’ll add blended chili sauce

Groundnuts and Sesame seeds

Before pour the shrimp paste

And after covered with shrimp paste

Overall the ingredients are fresh because each of the fruits will be cut on the spot.

The taste is different compare the rest, the shrimp paste is nice with some honey taste.

Don’t worry, no extra charges such as Service Tax or Government Tax.

At Gurney Drive consider variety of food, lots of choices, but this Rojak Stall is only selling 1type of food only.

The environment is so-so, the good thing is clean, but the bad thing about this stall is because toilet is just beside it.

Not much conversation and serving required, but the boss is friendly to show his skill when ladies want to snap photos. ;-)
