Restaurant Yosenabe (Shabu-Shabu) @ Penang

1st time eating this New Zealand Beef Shabu-shabu set for RM17.50.

Outlook shop, hard to find. Same row with Ayamas shop. See the “how to go” infos at the end of this blog.

Few highlights about this shop:

Individual Japanese nabe (hot pot) with thin sliced beef from New Zealand.

Where u’ll only eat ur own portion and it’s not shared with any1, including ur fren.

Is not like steamboat, sometime ur fren had put the ingredient that u don’t like.

Clear soup base slow-boiled with chicken stock.

I didn’t see how they cook inside the kitchen, but the soup I can tell u that I’m finishing the whole pot soup, because its so nice and tasty.

Homemade sauce using fresh ingredients.

Japanese-themed restaurant.

Besides that, this shop had 20years plus experience.

Is means they are knowing the beef is best from which country and what’s the difference between the local beef and NZ beef.

Interviewed with the boss, she said the texture and aroma of NZ beef is much more different compare the local beef, and of course, the NZ beef is nicer than the rest.

Since this shop had been operated more than 20years, therefore the local people (which means the people stay at nearby) will know the appearance of this shop and 80% of the customers are from local. Some customers will coming back again although migrated to other countries. So do I, the taste is so nice and am sure I’ll coming back again. I’m travelling to Penang town area for almost 10years plus, but I still can miss it, because I travel by using highway and their shop is just slightly lower than the landscape view.

Some nice article from Groupon:

The clear soup base is made from boiled chicken stock, with perfectly sliced New Zealand beef adding flavour and character to the hotpot. Accompanied by vegetables and mushroom, the homemade sauce tops off the shabu-shabu potpourri, leaving diners well-positioned on the Balanced Diet league. Eyes and ears feeling left out of the mouth party may focus their attention on television screens while enjoying the cool atmosphere brought about by mechanized blizzards.

Bihun (Bee Hoon), RM0.70

Mango juice, RM2.50

Enrich type.

My Step to eat this, plus with some coaches by the boss.

First, after the soup was prepared and boiled, put in the bihun, vege, and mushroom. Let the soup can taste fresh and sweet with the vege.

Then, using chopstick put piece by piece the beef.

As u can see, the beef has been sliced and its’ so transparent.

Is up to u, u can control how many percent cook for each of the beef by ur own. Some peoples like to eat raw meat, some peoples are prefer cook well or might overcook. I try few times, the best Shabu-Shabu that I like is 2seconds cook, after the soup boiled.

After finish the beef, then only u finish it the bihun and for me, I’ll finish the soup too.

It’s so tasty and fresh, the soup was added with pepper.

There’re some other package u can choose.

How to go:
